Oven-Baked Chicken Thighs with Sauce

Preheat the oven to 190 degrees and let it heat thoroughly. Meanwhile, start preparing the vegetables.

Peel the potatoes and cut them into medium-sized apple slices. Chop the tomatoes and peppers into large pieces. Leave the garlic whole or cut them in half.

Prepare the sauce in a large mixing bowl. Using a wire whisk, mix the vegetable oil, yogurt, tomato paste, salt, black pepper, red pepper flakes, thyme, ground cinnamon, and freshly squeezed lemon juice until it reaches a smooth consistency.

Add the chicken thighs to the delicious sauce you prepared and mix well with your hands to ensure every part is coated with the sauce.

Spread the chopped potatoes, peppers, tomatoes, and garlic over a large baking tray or a baking dish. Sprinkle a little salt over them.

Place the sauced chicken thighs on top of the vegetables at intervals. Pour the remaining sauce from the bowl over the vegetables as well.

Cover the baking tray first with moistened parchment paper, then wrap it tightly with aluminum foil. This way, the chicken will cook until tender and will not lose its steam.

Cook in the preheated oven in this manner for approximately 40 minutes. At the end of the time, remove the foil and paper and continue to bake under supervision for approximately 20 minutes more until the top of the chicken is browned and the vegetables are soft.

After letting the dish you took out of the oven rest at room temperature for 5 minutes, serve it hot.
